Gem trees are constructed by hand in the artist’s Asheville, NC studio using some of the finest gems, crystals and minerals. Each tree is unique. Larry has been making gem trees for more than 10 years and has done both private commissioned work and retail craft fairs. His knowledge of his craft is extensive, having used both simple inexpensive stones and also working with the finest rubies, garnets, turquoise and sapphire.
While the trees that you find here in the shop are available immediately for purchase, Larry specializes in custom, personalized trees. His gem trees make a one-of-a-kind gift, perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays and special holidays.
Every gem has a story. For hundreds of years, these gems have been treasured in the folklore, customs and spiritual beliefs of various cultures for intrinsic therapeutic, healing, empowering and protective qualities. Feel free to call and ask detailed questions about the stones, wire, birds or anything else that you feel important in the making of your tree. Your satisfaction is my foremost concern and I will work with you to get you a piece of art that goes above and beyond your expectations.
